And a rare painting by the late Chinese master Zhang Daqian was recently donated by The Supervision Authority of Taiwan to the Museum of History.

The "Old Pine Tree" had been stored in the meeting room of the department since 1971. It was finished in 1969 while Zhang Daqian stayed in Brazil. By that time, Zhang had already developed his unique splashed-color style.

Not long ago, at the Guardian Spring Auction in Beijing, another of Zhang's works, "Achensee Lake", which was finished around the same time as "Old Pine Tree," sold for over 100-million yuan, and set the auction record for Chinese contemporary paintings.
