Nine outstanding Chinese art groups and theatres will present 32 performances including Peking Opera, modern drama, children's theatre, dance, musical and song and dance gala in Beijing between August 3rd and September 4th.
It is the largest and longest running assembly of state-owned art troupes over the past decade.
In the China Central Ballet's rehearsal rooms, artists are concentrating on practicing under the guidance of art director Feng Ying.
According to Feng, the Central Ballet has assembled the most excellent performers for the showcase, and some of them are well-known internationally. And the four performances are strictly selected.

Feng Ying, art director of China Central Ballet, said, "'Swan Lake' and "Onegin" are ballet classics and now they are still influential and popular. We will also bring our original 'Peony Pavilion', which can help audience members understand the evolving process of Chinese ballet. And the fourth performance will be a selection of excellency, from the romantics to contemporary."
China Children's Art Theatre will offer the most shows, including "Sun Bird", "Journey to the West", "Malan Flower", "The Skyblue Paper Plane" and "12 Zodiacs."
China National Opera House will present two original works. "Farewell My Concubine" has just clinched the top honor of China national stage art, and "Romance of Rewapu" is a homage to Xinjiang ethnic art.
