Classical music is often called "high-brow," but what about high-altitude?

Coming up on August 15th, music lovers will have a chance to beat the heat and enjoy a fantastic performance on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau in Golmud, some 45-hundred meters above sea level.

With snowy mountains as a backdrop, the concert, titled "Holy Snow Mountain - Ode to Mt. Kunlun" will be performed at the entrance to one of the peaks of Mt. Kunlun.

The Beijing Symphony Orchestra will deliver the concert under the baton of Tan Lihua. Organizers expect around 500 to 700 audience members will attend the high-altitude show.
