"Lounge Chair Dream" makes China debut

Elsewhere in Shanghai, the public service activity of "Lounge Chair Dream" made its China debut at the Botanical Gardens on Wednesday.

This activity, which is initiated by the British Royal Park Fund, aims to let children explore and enjoy the mystery of nature. The children accomplish this goal by designing different patterns for the canvases of lounge chairs.

In the office of Shanghai Botanical Garden, about 30 elementary school students were guided by a British teacher and interestingly designing various patterns for the lounge chairs.

According to the organizer, this activity is dedicated to spread environmental protection and knowledge about vegetation to young people since its inauguration in 2006.

On Thursday night, the results of this activity will be viewed in the UK Pavilion of the Shanghai Expo.

The top designs will be exhibited in the UK Pavilion and made into actual chairs that will be placed in the Shanghai Botanical Garden, British Royal Park, and other locations.
