Chinese culture is again on tour. In the past four years, the Chinese government has been promoting dialogue, tolerance, understanding and collaboration with other cultures. To echo the United Nation's International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures, an intangible cultural heritage showcase has been presented at the UN headquarters in New York.
All the performances were staged at the Golden Hall of Vienna, including the Dangtu ballads, or, the folk madrigals popular along the Yangtze River in east Anhui province. And Dachuan Folk Music Ensemble is a new Chinese folk music group composed of seven young and talented musicians. They presented an east-meets-west mixture to UN officials and envoys.
