Golden Eagle Awards announce winners

The Golden Eagle Awards, which is held every two years, is regarded by many as the Chinese version of the Emmy Awards.

On Wednesday here in the capital, the committee of the 25th China Eagle Awards announced this year's winners in 79 categories.

The award for Best TV Series goes to "Liberation." And the 22 small screen productions including "A Wonderful Era for the Daughter-in-Law" take home the Outstanding TV Series Awards.

Director Li Sanlin is crowned the Best Director for two of his television series: "Go West" and "I Owe You A Hug in My Lifetime."

And the award for Best Television Program is shared by "The Dedication of Love: For the Wenchuan Earthquake Victims," "2010 CCTV Spring Festival Gala," and "Evening Gala for the Chinese Literati."

Documentaries including "The Great Journey" and "Chang'An Avenue" are recognized as the best works in the TV documentary category.

The award ceremony of the 25th Golden Eagle Awards will be held September the 21st and 22nd in Changsha of central China's Hunan Province.

The awards for the Most Popular TV Emcees, and Best Actor and Actress will also be disclosed at the event.
