Traditional wood-carvers in Kin-na-ur district of India's northern Himachal Pradesh are seeking to revive the rich heritage of wood-art in the state, as only a few artists are left to keep the dying craft alive.
Wooden crafts are one of the most popular art forms in Himachal Pradesh. It's an ancient industry of the region. Wooden crafts can be seen in traditional village homes with their carved doors, picturesque windows, crafted ceilings and balconies.
The artisans feel that there is a great need to preserve and promote this tradition.
