Syria has celebrated its National Pavilion Day at the Shanghai World Expo.

Sunday's festivities saw the country demonstrate its distinctive architecture and culture with traditional elements, including folk residences in Damascus occupied by three generations. Three components of the exhibition, "Cultural Stories of the Silk Road," "Arabic Library," and "From Ancient Hamoukar to Modern Damascus," are arranged in three conjoined halls. The Syrian Jollannar Dancing Troupe showcased traditional dances for visitors. This ensemble is quite familiar to Chinese, and worldwide audiences, after previously performing at the Beijing Olympic Games.
