Jingdezhen, China's capital of porcelain in east China's Jiangxi province, has revitalized the ancient art of porcelain making.

They've done this by replicating kilns of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and raising them up to firing temperature once again. Let's take a look at what the buzz is all about.

Two ancient type kilns started working on Tuesday. One is a replica of Qing dynasty style kiln, the other copies a Ming dynasty style.

Pine wood is used in the burning process just like hundreds of years ago.

Zhou Ronglin, director of Jingdezhen Porcelain Heritage Center, said, "It's harder to recreate the scene of burning a Ming dynasty style kiln, the era is more faraway to us."

The Ming dynasty style kiln, called "Guard Kiln", is constructed based on historical records and ruins of kilns from that period.

The Guard Kiln sees many more advantages compared with the previous Song dynasty kilns, with a temperature 40 degrees Celsius higher, also the production is doubled.

The Guard Kiln, which gets its name from its shape, dates back 600 years. And this is the first attempt in 400 years to make a replica of it and fire it up again.

The first batch of porcelain from the Guard Kiln replica will be strictly Ming dynasty format.

The porcelain will be burned within the kiln for 24 hours. And after a four-day cooling process, the kiln will then be opened allowing its first batch of new Ming dynasty style porcelain to be seen by the public.
