Scream Awards unveil winners

There were superheroes and vampires, rockers and zombies - and that was just the audience. Even more outrageous characters haunted the Greek Theater stage at Spike TV's annual Scream Awards.

The annual event, now in its 5th year is a tribute to horror, sci-fi, comics, and fantasy. The fan-fueled awards show and TV special welcomed scores of stars and hundreds of freaky fans.

On a spectacular stage that looked like a warped Metropolis flanked by two gargoyle-rimmed platforms, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd got a standing ovation as they reunited with a DeLorean car to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Back to the Future." Jimmy Kimmel honored the cast of "Lost" with a special farewell in front of a flaming piece of fuselage.

Fans voted online for awards in 30 categories, including best villain and most memorable mutilation.

"Inception" walked home with the "Ultimate Scream Award." James Cameron's "Avatar" garnered the Best 3D Movie Award, and Cameron himself was crowned the Best Director. Kristen Stewart accepts Best Actress award.
