Chinese artists bring stunning performance to Istanbul

Artists from the China National Song and Dance Ensemble are currently giving performances in Turkey.

On Wednesday, they presented a stunning visual spectacle in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey. The show was part of a Sino-Turkish cultural exchange program called "Experience China -- Touring Turkey."

The performance Wednesday night met with an enthusiastic response from the local audience. The night was packed with a variety of Chinese ethnic songs and dances that were saturated with exotic flavors.

The show was highlighted by a line of dancers from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Their performance was overwhelmed by cheers and applause from the packed house.

Chinese singer of Khalkhas minority, said, "I'm extremely excited by the warm response from the people of Turkey. They've come here everyday to watch our shows."

Chinese dancer of Uygur minority, said, "Unfortunately we are here performing only four shows. I wish I could do more."

It's the first time for many of the Chinese artists to visit Turkey. They say they are deeply impressed by the warmth and hospitality of the Turkish people.
