Exhibition of Russian arts opens in Beijing

The Russian Cultural Center in Beijing opened its first art exhibition on Thursday. Oil paintings of the famous artist Bernadsky from Petersburg brought summer to a cold November in Beijing.

The art exhibition named "From fall into summer" is destined to transfer the artist's warm-hearted feelings to the visitors. Gennadiy Bernadsky said he painted three pictures during his stay in China. He drew his inspiration from Yunnan province in southwest China, with its diverse nature and deep cultural traditions.

Gennadiy Bernadsky, Russian Artist, said, "In these painting I tried to embody my love to China."

The visitors to the opening ceremony of the exhibition - from students to senior citizens - shared the common feeling of love for Russian art.

Visitor, said, "China and Russia developed the mutual cooperation in liberal arts. This kind of art exhibit focuses on senior citizens and Chinese students, especially those who studied in Russia."

Art adviser for the Russian embassy in China, Yuriy Metelev, said the exhibition aims to present new traditions of Russian oil painting to Chinese citizens. He also pointed out that China and Russia developed mutual cooperation in arts. Further collaboration in this field will be discussed at the Russian-Chinese meeting of humane cooperation, which takes place in Moscow later this month.
