As a major part of the "Chinese Language Year in Russia", a forum called the "Day of Chinese Television in Russia" was held Tuesday in Moscow. The forum also marks the launching of the Moscow bureau of China Central Television.

Over 250 participants from both countries attended the grand opening event.

The forum aims to deepen the mutual understanding of both peoples, calling for more media efforts to join the broader cooperative area of the two sides.

Representatives from media groups of both countries exchanged ideas and discussed the possibility of further collaboration.

Meanwhile the Moscow bureau of CCTV officially opened on Tuesday. It's the third overseas bureau that CCTV has built overseas. The Moscow branch complements China's media coverage of the Commonwealth of the Independent States in an objective and timely manner.

China Central Television will have established 50 offices around the globe including seven main bureaus by the end of this year.
