Winning the gold award is "Playing with the Ocean" from China's National Acrobatic Troupe. No pain no gain. Such a jump required practice for over one year and eight months.

Also rewarded on the winning list are acrobatic troupes from the host city Guangzhou, eastern Shanghai, Wuhan, and northern Tianjin. The award carries an ambition to revive the art forms of acrobatics and magic, both of which have a long tradition in China.

Yan Jianrong, Magician, said, "The great popularity of Liu Qian has brought a new hot trend of magic shows, especially close-up magic."
