Yuan Dynasty painting "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains" is set for a historic reunion on June the 1st.

"Leftover Mountain Painting", the part housed at the Zhejiang Provincial Museum, was handed over to China's Cultural Relics Promotion Center Wednesday afternoon. The Center will later get in touch with the Taipei Palace Museum for the upcoming joint exhibition.

After rounds of security checks, "Leftover Mountain Painting" is put into a custom-made strongbox, where it will stay temporarily before it meets the other piece in Taiwan.

The hand-scroll painting wasn't open at all during the ceremony, out of consideration of minimizing the possible damage to the item, according to experts.

The priceless masterpiece will next be transferred to Beijing, and is to be handed over to the Taipei Palace Museum May the 18th.

Further details such as when exactly and how the piece will be delivered to Beijing are being kept confidential as a security measure.
