The mere mention of Xibaipo(西柏坡), former headquarters of the Communist Party of China, often conjures up the formidable efforts the revolutionaries made to found the People's Republic of China in 1949. Now, the serious subject matter is made more accessible to children with the release of a new animation on Thursday. The animated feature "Xibaipo" celebrates the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

Xibaipo was the headquarters of People's Liberation Army and the base of the central committee of the CPC from May of 1948 to March of 1949.

Due to its significance in the history of China's liberation, it has been referred to as the place where new China began.

The animation centers around the stories that happened to a few young pioneers as they cleverly helped to frustrate the enemies who were plotting to bomb Xibaipo.

Yuan Shumei, Producer of Xibaipo, said, "Animation is what children love to see. Through this means, we can make entertainment a medium of education."
