Disappearing dollars, floating tables, and fire-eating stunts are baffling a whole Texan town this week. The International Brotherhood of Magicians is gathering in Dallas for its annual get together - you just won't believe your eyes.

How many hotels can boast a floating table? Well, the Sheraton in Downtown Dallas can - at least when the International Brotherhood of Magicians is in town.

The Texan city is hosting the annual convention where magicians and enthusiasts from across the globe come together to amaze and astonish.

This magician might claim he's getting supernatural assistance but it's all trickery and sleight of hand.

Magician, said, "You probably can't see the ghosts so well, but hang on a second, let me just show you the ghost. The ghost is inside, but of course the ghost is invisible, so you can't see it, no."

Everywhere you look at the convention somebody is trying to deceive.

From the classically simple, but still baffling, coin tricks to a ring swapping routine that require a dexterous set of digits.

There's plenty of conventional card tricks, that will still leave you scratching your head wondering how it's done.

There's even a flaming fire eater ready to singe his tongue in the name of entertainment.

Fire master Rod Sipe says there is more openness in the industry and more of a "share-and-share-alike" attitude.

Rod Sipe, Magician, said, "The secrets are being less and less, there's more sharing. But it's a good thing. I see more young people who are technically savvy than there's ever been. So the real work, the mechanics of it are in good hands. It's much improved."

And circus clown and street performer Terry Davolt agrees. He's at the convention to teach people how to hammer a nail into your nose - without the need for a trip to hospital afterwards.

Terry Davolt, Circus Clown & Street Performer, said, "In the old days of clown alley it was like 'get away kid, I'm not telling you anything' because they'd be concerned about their job. 'They're going to steal my job.' But now, - I have the attitude: someone shared it with me, I'm going to pass it on."

The International Brotherhood of Magicians is the world's largest organization for professional magicians and enthusiastic amateurs in the magical arts. It has nearly 12,000 members worldwide with over 300 local groups called Rings in more than 73 countries.
