It's the summer holiday for school kids all over China. With that in mind, the Beijing Planetarium has decided to open its doors seven days a week. And one of the highlights for visitors to the Planetarium is the film "Wonderful Sky".

"Wonderful Sky" follows the changing of the seasons to fully introduce the name and location of various constellations.

From Orion in Winter to Leo in the Spring, and on to Scorpio in Summer and Pegasus for the Fall... the young people watch the hemispherical movie screen in the advanced optics planetarium to learn more about the distant sky.

"The stars cannot be seen clearly in books. But here, we can see the sky and the constellations so vividly and clearly. I think this is great!"

The reconstructed theater reopened just in time for the summer holiday. The high optics technology ensure it offers visitors a realistic sky with some 9 thousand stars visible.

Jing Hairong, deputy curator of Beijing Planetarium said, "We hope the young people become more interested in astronomy. So we created an environment for them to learn about the sky more easily."

Not only has the Planetarium expanded it hours of operation to seven days a week, but it also added 3 extra hours every day, giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy all the activities, exhibitions, and instructional films.
