Glimpse into summer music concerts in China

The summer holidays are often packed with music festivals and open-air concerts of every kind. So today, we want to tell you about a few events happening around China to make sure that your musical plate is completely filled.

We begin in Xi'an, where a 6-week series of summer music concerts is being held at Daming Palace National Heritage Park. Musicians, artists, and art institutions from several countries and regions are sharing in the fun.

Singer Gong Linna has performed a special set including the song "Free Bird" .

Musicians from France and Germany have also presented great shows already. And a group from South African presented special dances from their country.

The music festival will conclude on August 20th. Until then, audiences can experience a world of different styles throughout the 43-day event.

Moving on to Nanjing. The Nanjing Philharmonic Orchestra has presented audiences with their summer holiday concert. The music selected includes "The Blue Danube" and other "Strauss Waltzes". The orchestra will perform the concert in 26 cities.

Also in the music scene, the 8th China Gold Record Award kicked off on Monday in Beijing. More than 800 albums and records are vying for this year's big prize.
