Ronnie Milsap is known as one of America's most versatile country singers with songs that fuse elements of pop, R&B and Rock'n'Roll. Last week, he released a new album called "Country Again" with 12 songs that hark back to his roots.

He's earned over 40 No. 1 hits in his career, but singer Ronnie Milsap is not done yet. With "Country Again," he attempts to rock the country chart.

Ronnie Milsap said, "'Country Again' is definitely a new country album. I think it's the finest collection of songs I've ever had on a record."

Behind the recording is an even more inspiring story. Milsap has been visually impaired since birth, but he counts himself lucky that he went to a school that recognized his musical ability early on.

Ronnie Milsap said, "I've been fortunate. I learned braille when I was six. I learned to read braille music and study classical and play in the school symphony and that kind of thing. I still have a lot of these kind of things at my house. Somebody sends me a song, I usually transcribe the lyrics on the computer, and then I send it out to a braille embosser and tear the braille copy off. When I go into the studio I've got my lyrics and my sheet music all right there with me."

Throughout his career, Milsap has broken through musical boundaries and crossed over into pop and adult contemporary genres. However, he wanted to return to the music he grew up on with this new album. And the result is astounding.

Ronnie Milsap said, "Every time I go down to play in Louisiana they say, 'You've got to play the song 'If You Don't Want Me To'. They developed a line dance to it called 'The Freeze', and they're very particular about that dance, and they love that dance. So this record now is starting to catch on. In Louisiana, people are actually starting to hear it on the radio. They've got to stop their cars and pull off the side of the road and jump out, start dancing in the streets. This kind of a cult following from years ago, and we all thought it would be a great way to kick off this brand new album."

Milsap has sold over 35 million albums. In addition to his 40 No. 1 hits, he has six Grammys, eight Country Music Association awards and four Academy of Country Music Awards.
