Peking opera lovers are quite familiar with an old opera called "The Red Duster." It tells a tale that happened some 1500 years ago in the Tang Dynasty. But because of the difficulties of performing the piece, the opera disappeared from the stage during the 1980s.

Now, after great effort by Peking opera lovers and inheritors, this opera has reappeared on stage at the Mei Lanfang Theater in Beijing.

"The Red Duster" is the representative work of Peking opera master Cheng Yanqiu.

It tells the story of a young girl who always carries a red duster, pursuing freedom and love.

The actor, Xue Tao, seemed to walk into the young girl's world through this opera.
