The Primetime Emmy Awards have become one of the most popular red carpet events of the year. TV stars bring out their best and shine with the help of the biggest names in fashion and, of course, the best celebrity hairdressers.

This year hair styles will be up, teased, braided and polished, according to celebrity hair stylist Mark Turner.

He says that things that are going to be big this year are hair being half up, half down and a lot of ponytails that are straight and low.

Mark Turner said, "We will be seeing a lot of Marcel waves where hair has been set with irons and combed out very neatly. Not as disheveled as what it was last season."

Turner adds that hair color at the Emmy Awards will carry in easily from summer.

The Primetime Emmy Awards have become one of the most popular red carpet events of the year. TV stars bring out their best and shine with the help of the biggest names in fashion and, of course, the best celebrity hairdressers.

Mark Turner said, "Well you know I still think you are going to see a lot of the highlighted and light hair because it's just not quite here as far as the cooler weather so people still have that idea they want to see some highlights in their hair and they are still going to the beach. So with the color now, it's the ombre where it's dark and then it moves into light at the ends, I think you are going to see a lot of that. It looks great when it's put up, when it's braided because the light intertwines with the dark and it creates a nice effect."

Turner also says that for the fall we are going to start seeing some copper and some red heads coming back in. It's beautiful and warm and it enriches the skin tone.

The 63rd annual Primetime Emmys take place on Sunday.
