Less than a month after Christmas, toy makers are discussing what will be the big seller for 2012. Ecofriendly and classic toys appear to be the top trends at this year's annual Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair.

Classic toys such as Lego, cars and dolls are taking center stage at the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair. One cultural change seen at the event is the global fashion for smartphones.

For example, this robot is controlled using bluetooth technology via Apple iOS devices, android devices and PC Apps. The robot's nine built-in motors enable it to perform human-like actions. But while techie toys continue to innovate, classic toys continue to thrill adults and children alike.

This 12-meter long tyrannosaurs dinosaur model has come to the exhibition from the US after more than 30,000 hours of preparation. 65 percent of the T-Rex is made from a real fossil. But it's not for sale - it's being loaned to Geoworld by Black Hills Institute of Geological Research Inc. in South Dakota where the dinosaur was excavated.

Environmentally friendly products are the main buzz at this year's event.

The Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair is the largest event of its kind in Asia. In 2011 nearly 2,000 exhibitors from 41 countries and regions showed off their wares to over 34,000 buyers. Similar numbers were predicted for this year's four-day event, which wrapped up on Thursday.
