Nominees for the 31st annual Hong Kong Film Awards were announced on Wednesday. The potential winners include Chinese actor/director Jiang Wen's "Let the Bullets Fly" and Hong Kong veteran director Tsui Hark's "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate."

"Bullets versus Swords" seems to be the main theme of the nomination ceremony, as both of movies have received 13 nods. "Let the Bullets Fly" stars heavyweights like Jiang Wen, Ge You and Chow Yun-fat. They will battle it out with Jet Li of "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate" in the "Best Picture," "Best Director" and "Best Art Direction" categories.

Past winners Nicholas Tse and Lau Ching-Wan were there to announce the nominees.

Ching-Wan himself was nominated twice in the "Best Actor" category, and expressed joy for it, but joked it didn't matter to him which film won the accolade for.

Lau Ching-Wan, actor, said, "I'm happy with one nomination, with 2 nominations, it's double happiness. So I'm not going to spend time thinking about which film I will be awarded for."

His counterpart, Nicholas Tse saw himself acknowledged in the "Best Supporting Actor" category, but his reaction was somewhat mixed.

Nicholas Tse, actor, said, "I really didn't expect this, I thought everyone forgot about the film. "Shaolin" was released more than a year ago, so I felt a bit awkward seeing my name in the nomination list."

While these two seem to be very low-key and sitting close to honors, the winners of the much coveted prizes will be released on April 15th amid great anticipation.
