As the music industry’s biggest names gathered for a Grammy Awards show that felt as much like a memorial service as a celebration, investigators are still seeking the cause of Whitney Houston’s death.

Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said there were no obvious signs of trauma on Houston’s body, but that officials were not ruling out any causes of death until they have toxicology results, which will take weeks to obtain.

Ed Winter, Assistant Chief of L.A. County Dept. of Coroner, said "The autopsy on Miss Whitney Houston, it was concluded today. There will be no cause of death at this time because it is pending toxicology. And that could take up to 6-8 weeks. At this time her cause of death is deferred and we are finishing with all of our testing and it will be an ongoing investigation."

The body of US singer Whitney Houston left California on Monday, on a flight said to be bound for the state of New Jersey.

The 48-year old pop star, who was found dead in her hotel suite in Beverly Hills on Saturday, was born in Newark, New Jersey, and her family has raised the possibility of holding her funeral there on Friday.
