March 5th marked the 49th anniversary of "Learning from Lei Feng." Lei Feng was a soldier who died young, but had a reputation of being warm-hearted and devoted to others. That spirit lives on today in the form of volunteerism.

This Monday, the National Art Museum of China launched a volunteer event in memory of Lei Feng. 10,000 leaflets featuring wood-block paintings of the iconic military man were handed out to visitors, along with copies of the iconic soldier's life story.

The National Art Museum has also been giving away free tickets and hosting public cultural events since last March.

In another gesture to the spirit of Lei Feng, the museum has also started providing free Wi-Fi, convenient umbrellas and emergency medical care for visitors.
