Jiang Wen, Zhang Ziyi win big at Film Directors' Guild Awards

The Chinese Film Directors' Guild Awards was held in Beijing Sunday evening, with hundreds of directors and stars attending. Director Jiang Wen won best picture and best director for his movie "Let the Bullet Fly". The best actor and actress awards went to Ge You and Zhang Ziyi.

Renowned director Feng Xiaogang and his actress wife Xu Fan took to the red carpet followed by an array of stars, beginning with singer Zhang Jie and ending with actress Gong Li in a figure-hugging outfit.

Chinese star Zhang Ziyi stole the show, winning a best actress award for her portrayal of an AIDS victim in the film "Love for Life."

Zhang Ziyi said, "This is a grand meeting for Chinese film makers. This is a rare opportunity to get together with hundreds of directors and actors. I was very happy when I found out that my name was on the list. The procedure of the selection is fair and precise, and I think this is the reason why so many people attended this event."
