"Hua'er" is a type of folk song that is popular in Northwest China. It was listed as a "World Intangible Cultural Heritage" in 2009. The "Hua'er Song Exhibition", held every year, aims to preserve this art form. A month before the meeting starts, a press conference was held in Beijing to allow audiences to have a taste of this folk art.

These two performers are from western China. Their singing has a unique rhythm and is sometimes passionate and sometimes soft. These original folk songs are used for courting romantic love, praying for good weather, and for the safety of family members. They are usually sung by a group of people gathered in the woods. The 3rd "Hua'er Song Exhibition" will be held from July 19th to the 24th in Xining, Qinghai Province.
