After nearly 40 years, Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama has returned to New York City where she made a name for herself during the pop art movement, influencing the works of Andy Warhol and Claes Oldenburg. This prompted the media and fans to crown her the "Princess of Polka Dots".

Unveiling her latest art exhibit in New York City on Tuesday, Kusama used her psychedelic pop art vision to decorate Louis Vuitton’s iconic Fifth Avenue store - even designing her own signature collection for the luxury brand.

The 85-year-old artist is accustomed to drawing, sculpting, painting and even writing, but collaborating with the high-end retailer is a new adventure for her. Kusama currently lives in Japan, where her works are widely acclaimed by the art community.
