If you’re a foodie, you will certainly want to check out the annual Taipei Culinary Exhibition, one of the highlights of Taiwan’s event calendar. Here you are presented with outstanding creations of culinary art. You can watch renowned chefs preparing their masterpieces, and you’ll have the chance to partake in a variety of activities involving Chinese food.

The products of Taiwan’s finest kitchens are taking center stage at the Taipei Culinary Exhibition. Signature snack foods, banquet dishes and delicacies of Tainan, Lugang, and Taipei’s Wanhua District will headline an event which seeks to illustrate Taiwan’s rich culinary roots.

Xie Weijun, Director of Taiwan Tourism Bureau, said, "Tainan, Lugang, and Wanhua are Taiwan’s three oldest administrative towns. And the exhibition will present the history of these towns and how they have shaped Taiwan’s cuisine for 300 years."

Here at the exhibition, food lovers have a chance to try Taiwan’s finest gourmet offerings.

The products of Taiwan’s finest kitchens are taking center stage at the Taipei Culinary Exhibition.

"I’m making Baiye tofu, what’s special about this snack food is the marinade. Instead of soy sauce, it’s made of honey and shrimp. And it’s very delicious!" Said local chef.

"It tastes good! Sweet and sour, I like it!"

And it’s not only a feast for your taste buds, but also for your eyes.

With his unbelievable slicing skills, this chef makes a radish into a 90-meter strip.

"Wow, I can not believe my eyes!"

Other highlights of the event include a culinary competition and spectacular kitchen demonstrations.

Taipei Culinary Exhibition, now in its 23rd year, runs till next Monday.
