Country music artists Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan have announced the nominations for this year’s Country Music Awards in New York City. Eric Church is the top nominee with five nods, followed closely by Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. The husband and wife have four nominations apiece.

Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan are also on the list. They’re both up for male vocalist of the year. Bryan is also up for album of the year while Aldean is nominated for the CMA’s top award - entertainer of the year - and single of the year for his song "Dirt Road Anthem."

Taylor Swift is aiming at her third entertainer of the year award.

Bryan and Eric Church helped knock longtime nominee and multiple winner Paisley off the list of male vocalist nominees - joining Aldean, Shelton and Keith Urban. Bryan and Church are also on the list of album of the year nominees for the first time.

Kelly Clarkson broke through in the female vocalist category, joining previous nominees Swift, Lambert, Underwood and Martina McBride. Lady Antebellum will go for their fourth straight vocal group of the year award against the Zac Brown Band, The Band Perry, Little Big Town and The Eli Young Band.
