Setting the tone for Christie’s London Asian Art week, Christie’s has presented the most valuable Fine Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art. A selection of exquisite works including notable ceramics, jade carvings, bronzes, cloisonne enamel, paintings and furniture all hit the auction block.

Leading the sale were a pair of rare cloisonne enamel models of rams with riders from the Qianlong Period. They blew right past their estimated price of 1.5 million yuan, eventually galloping off for 4.5 million. Another highlight was a pair of huanghuali armchairs, or "Guan Mao Yi" (黄花梨官帽椅). The chairs, made in the 17th century, fetched some 8.4 million yuan. A magnificent rare blue and white cylindrical Yongzheng period vase from a private Asian collector and a fine white jade carving were also sold off.
