In the UAE, the average cost of one wedding is about 40,000 US dollars. It’s a huge market. Top wedding dress designers are keen to cater for the Arabian girls’ figures and appetites.

Nabeela Al Aeysaway, Wedding Dress Designer, said, "I think Arabian girls prefer colourful gowns to plain white ones. We should definitely take their aesthetic standards into consideration. Clinging to outdated customs won’t work."

But capturing the captious eyes of a bride-to-be is by no means easy work.

Hamda, Bride-To-Be, said, "It’s not my style, because I tend to be more simple, just maybe some lace, just simple cut."
