Well the American political TV series "House of Cards" is underway and wowing fans. And an endorsement from US President Barack Obama on his official twitter account certainly hasn't hurt. Here's more from the cast of the hit Netflix series.

Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and the rest of the "House of Cards" have gotten a presidential nod. Warning fans against spoilers, the tweet came just before the political thriller’s second season premiere.

"Yes, I retweeted it. I can’t believe. At first I thought oh this must be a fake President Obama Twitter account. So I checked it to make sure it had a little checkmark. Yeah, that’s one of the coolest things that’s happened to me," said actor Kate Mara.

"House of Cards" garnered a slew of award nominations last year after its first season -- but ended up losing in all categories at the Emmys and elsewhere, except for honors for Wright.

"The truth is we did it because we thought it was a really interesting idea to do a show. And we also thought the chance to do something that’s something of a new paradigm with Netflix was very exciting. We’re happy to be recognized. But it’s not why we do it and I don’t think it validates what we’ve done," actor Kevin Spacey said.

Robin Wright directed several episodes of the second season -- a first for the actress.

"You know what, because this is like going away to college, doing a show like this. Every day -- six, seven months with the same people, the same crew -- and being at the helm, you’ve got a lot of responsibility. And you better not mess up. That was all I was thinking every day," said actress Robin Wright.

A big twist is promised for the very first episode of season 2, and the cast is even contemplating a role for President Obama in the show. But that will probably have to wait until the third season.
