Dialogue 08/18/2012 China, Costa Rica to promote ties

Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla Miranda has called for closer economic and trade ties between China and her country. The two sides had maintained frequent high-level visits, with deepening mutual political trust and fast development in trade and economic cooperation. China and Costa Rica had achieved fruitful cooperation in such areas as culture, education and technology, and maintained good communication and coordination on major international and regional issues. Costa Rica also hopes to expand cooperation in investment, trade, clean energy, education and tourism. She also pledged to improve visa policy to attract Chinese tourists.
