Russian President Vladimir Putin had called on G20 finance leaders gathered for meetings in Moscow to focus on debt and budget deficit management. He told the Group of 20 nations that the primary task was to eradicate economic imbalances and stimulate global growth. On average, in developed economies debt has already exceeded GDP. It is not absolutely clear how the countries intend to service their debts. This obviously causes concern for the investors, and the countries themselves end up in the vicious circle of debt and economic crisis. As the major members of the G20, Russia has maintained fruitful coordination and cooperation in tackling the international financial crisis over the past years.
