It´s not easy for foreigners to understand Chinese traditional opera. But that hasn´t stopped them from appreciating it. Chinese Huangmei opera artist Ma Lan is one of those making an effort to promote Chinese traditional operas around the world.
Huangmei opera is a stage tradition rooted in east China´s Anhui province, and recently, it was featured in an art festival held in Anqing city.
The traditional opera season for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People´s Republic of China has seen another classic. The Huangmei Opera "The Fairy and Her Mortal Lover" was staged at the Mei Lanfang Grand Theater in Beijing.
