It´s in 1925 that the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties was converted into the Palace Museum. Beginning in 1933, many rare cultural relics were moved out of the Palace Museum to protect them from the chaos of a war-torn China. Finally they were taken to Taiwan and a meseum was built in Taipei to keep them. More than 90 percent of the rare art works kept in the Palace Museum in Taipei today came from the Palace Museum in Beijing.
