A restaurant in the U-S is offering a unique deal to its customers. It’s offering a five percent discount to diners who turn off their cell phones while they eat. It’s all to ensure they pay attention to their dinner partner rather than their phone screen.

It’s like a coat check for your device at Eva restaurant and a five percent discount when diners leave their phone in the basket. Many ask why no one thought of this before.

Malhar Ragay said, "I saw it on the menu. I think it’s great although I’ve got to admit.I’m guilty. But I saw it after I sat down." David Bartlett said, "I think it’s so boorish when people sit around and talk on phones when they are eating food. so I think it’s marvelous." Police may struggle with distracted drivers, but the chef at Eva thinks distracted dining can be minimized.

Mark Gold, chef of Eva Restaurant, said, "People are distracted by whether it be work or texting whatever it might be, you’re not going to be in the moment. and we want people to be in the moment, not only with the food, but with each other. And that’s kind of the whole basis behind it." The owner of this phone admits, he took a pass.

George Walker said, "I do have a phone, it’s in my pocket. I think I’d rather be asked to silence it as I enter rather than give it up." But overall saving money while checking devices at the door seems to be a popular menu item.

Emily Price, the hostess, said, "I think people really really appreciate it. they’re surprised. Not something a lot of places are doing right now." "You may be the first " "It’s the first I’ve heard of too.

He wants to turn things back to the way they were before everybody was on the phone all the time, always connected always taking pictures.
