Jiaoshan: Eulogy on Burying a Crane

Jiao Mountain is five kilometers from downtown, with a height of 70.7 meters it covers an area of 38 hectares. It is one of the national key scenic spots and national 4A tourist regions. With ancient trees and tall bamboos, it looks like a green jade flowing in the river; for this reason people give it another name, “flowing jade mountain”.

As a national key protective relic unit, cliff inscriptions and forest of steles are worth visiting. The forest of steles is the second biggest in China, among which, “Yihe Inscriptions” is most worthy of visitation, it is looked upon as the ancestor of calligraphy by successive calligraphers.

As a national key protective relic unit, 200-meter-long cliff inscriptions and forest of steles in Jiao Mountain Cliff is the second biggest forests of steles in China, among which, “Yihe Inscriptions” is worthy the most and looked upon as the ancestor of calligraphy by successive calligraphers. Coming here, the forest of steles will show you the calligraphy of past dynasties. In Jiao Mountain, the harmonious beauty which combines the natural, cultural and human scenic spots is worth seeing.
