* 温总理敦促日方立即无条件释放中国船长

中国国务院总理温家宝(Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao)当地时间9月21日晚上8点在纽约会见当地华人华侨、留学生代表和中资机构时谈到,最近日方扣留我在钓鱼岛(Diaoyu Island)捕鱼的船只和船员,至今不释放船长并试图用日本国内法处置该事件,这是非法和无理的,极大地伤害了船员和他们的家属,也激起了国内外中华儿女强烈的愤慨。温总理表示,钓鱼岛是中国神圣的领土。他指出如果日本一意孤行,中方将会采取进一步行动,由此造成的一切严重后果,日方要承担全部责任。

* 奥巴马称美国正改变其对外发展援助政策

美国总统奥巴马22日在联合国千年发展目标高级别会议(MDGs)上发言时表示,美国正在改变其对外发展援助政策。他在发言中说,美国将采用新的方法和思维来指导其对外发展援助,美国将改变发展援助的定义和最终目标。奥巴马政府官员曾表示,将把美国对外发展援助提升为外交和国防之外的第三个美国实力的核心支柱。联合国千年发展目标高级别会议20日开幕,大约140个国家的元首或政府首脑出席并发表讲话。会议将在22日晚些时候通过成果文件后闭幕。

* 伊朗阅兵仪式上发生爆炸事件 9人死亡、数十人受伤

据伊朗(Iran)阿拉伯语电视台Al-Alam9月22日报道,当天在伊朗西北部马哈巴德(Mahabad County)举行的阅兵仪式上发生一起爆炸事件,造成9人死亡、数十人受伤。报道称,爆炸发生在22日上午,当时有很多民众正在观看阅兵仪式,伤亡人员中多数是妇女和儿童。

* 全球最长寿老翁迎来114岁生日

全球最长寿老翁、美国人沃尔特•布罗伊宁21日在蒙大拿州大瀑布城(Great Falls,Montana)一家养老院迎来114岁生日。《大瀑布城论坛报》报道,大约100人到场为布罗伊宁庆生,布罗伊宁在生日会上发表简短讲话,谈及养生秘诀。他说,善待他人最重要,人们要学会享受生活,但没有信仰的生活不会愉悦。

* 英国老太太种出超级黄瓜 申请吉尼斯最长纪录

78岁的英国老太太皮尔斯夫人很可能在《吉尼斯世界纪录大全》(Guinness World Records)中留名,因为她种植了一根“世界上最长的黄瓜”。这根黄瓜的长度为47英寸(约合1.19米),而目前在册的最长黄瓜纪录为41.25英寸,同样是由一名英国人在两年前创下的。不过令人遗憾的是,皮尔斯夫人的这根黄瓜最终腐烂了,但她还有另一根“替补成员”,其42英寸的长度尽管逊色不少,但仍然比目前的世界纪录要长一些。皮尔斯夫人已经邀请了吉尼斯官员进行评测,希望能够获得正式认可。
