The Japan Pavilion is proving quite popular at the World Expo Park, but the country's Corporate Pavilion is also a hot attraction. The traditional ryori restaurant on the ground floor is a place holding a little mystery because it's not a restaurant one can regularly visit. Xu Zhaoqun was lucky enough to take a tour inside Murasaki.

Elegance may be the first impression when you step into this cozy and neat little restaurant. But your appetite will immediately be stimulated once the sashimi comes into view.

Kaiseki Ryori is considered one of the most expensive traditional types of Japanese cuisine. It uses fresh ingredients of the season cooked in ways that enhance the original taste without any artificial flavourings.

Despite a set menu and sky-high prices, the five private rooms in Murasaki are always fully booked, not only because of its culinary standards, but also the restaurant will close with the Expo. It's almost impossible for the best chefs from several top restaurants to collaborate in presenting Kaiseki Ryori.

Murasaki Restaurant General manager Hitoshi Kakizawa said, "It is a dream team of chefs from such famous restaurants even in Japan, it's a mission impossible."

Murasaki is only a very small part of the Japanese Corporate Pavilion. Even though the pavilion is sponsored by the business sector, cultural elements are widely used to attract visitors.

Kikkoman is not the only one trying to synthesize its products with Chinese culture. A tile producer is trying to attract Chinese visitors by making its products look like blue and white porcelain. And, while waiting to enter the pavilion, visitors can also watch the multi screen wall to pass the time.
