37 killed by heavy rain in past 10 days in Guangxi

Turning to the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, where 37 people have been killed after 10 days of heavy rain. Among the casualties, one person drowned, four were killed in building collapses and the remaining 32 others died in landslides and other rain-triggered disasters.

Heavy rain pounded 80 counties in the region and affected more than 3 million people. Direct economic losses have been estimated at more than 2 billion yuan. More than 200-thousand people have been evacuated. A new round of heavy rain is forecast to hit the region from Thursday to Saturday.
