The continuous rainstorms in East China's Fujian Province have triggered landslides in Youxi County, Sanming City, threatening more than 450 local residents.
Mud flows were triggered by the intense rainstorms that started in mid-June. Hundreds of soldiers have been dispatched to the affected area, to join the relief effort.
By Tuesday afternoon, all 478 residents living in the vicinity had been moved to safety. No casualties have been reported. The local government has boosted its anti-flood measures to keep losses to a minimum.
