Our studio guest today is Professor Gao Zhikai. He has more insight into the postponed military talks between the US-led UN Command and the DPRK. Welcome, Dr Gao.
Q1. This round of general-level talks would be the 17th of its kind between the UNC and the DPRK since 1998. Although it has just been postponed, what would have been the significance of this meeting at this particular time?
Q2. Is there any significance to the fact that the talks have been postponed?
Q3. Pyongyang first rejected the UNC's offer to hold general-level talks last month. But it then changed its position later and proposed colonel-level talks. Why do you think Pyongyang changed its mind?
Thank you, professor. That's our current affairs commentator Dr Gao Zhikai, on the postponed military talks between the US-led UN Command and the DPRK.
