South Korean Prime Minister Chung Un-chan has offered his resignation, citing his failure to prevent a new city project at Seoul's National Assembly.
Prime Minister Chung took office 10 months ago, and has been a staunch supporter of President Lee Myung-bak's idea to scrap the previous government's plan to relocate some government ministries to a new city.
The project will be constructed in Yon-gi in the country's central area with a new name, "Sejong City." But the government's bill to scrap the project failed to get parliamentary approval last month.
