An Airbus A380 aircraft from the Dubai based Emirates airline, is set to make its maiden commercial landing at Beijing Capital International Airport, in a few hours.
The airport has been preparing for the debut of the world's largest passenger airliner in the Chinese capital, with a series of tests and rehearsals. The Beijing Capital International Airport has built 17 gate positions for the A380.
Due to its tremendous size, the aircraft consumes nearly twice the power of normal airplanes. Emirates will also provide direct flights on the jumbo jet connecting China, with Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
