The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters says major rivers in northeastern China are still above the warning levels.
As rainfall eases in Jilin Province, the water level in the Baishan and Fengman reservoirs along the Songhua River is falling. But the Fengman Reservoir remains dangerously high.
In Liaoning Province, major rivers including Liaohe, Hunhe, Taizi and Yalu continue to flow above the warning line.
Some reservoirs along the Taizi River experienced their highest flood peaks. In central China, the flood threat along the Yangtze River has eased, since water levels of the middle and lower reaches of the river are below the danger line.
With more heavy rain in the forecast, the situation could worsen in the north and northeastern China.
