The landslide in Gansu's Zhouqu county has left 20,000 people homeless. Survivors at relocation sites spent a sleepless night.
It's three o'clock AM at this relocation site in Zhouqu county's No.1 Middle School.
Some survivors slept outdoors and others in tents and classrooms.
But sleep was impossible for some.
A Zhouqu resident said, "Many friends and relatives passed away.I'm so sad; I can't go to sleep."
Yang Yulan's home is on higher ground. She and her family members escaped the landslide.
Although they have a place to live, food and water are a problem.
Yang Yulan said, "We can hold on today, but we are worrying about tomorrow."
20-thousand people need to be relocated. The local government has helped place 13,000, and others are finding places by themselves.
The first batch of relief goods from Sichuan has arrived. But poor road conditions mean more difficulties lie ahead.
