The Gansu provincial Office of Land and Resources has set up a series of plans to prevent secondary disasters triggered by the storms in Zhouqu.
The office says 9 villages near Zhouqu, with a population of about 9 thousand, are in danger of possible landslides.
The office has set up observer stations at all those villages, and will report the situation in every two hours.
At the first sign of danger, all residents will be immediately informed. Residents have also been given leaflets on the best evacuation plan.
